What would be done if more money were available?
We have quite a "wish list" of things we would like to do if we had the funds. Two of the highest priority uses would be to contract with a professional grant proposal developer and to compensate a part-time or full-time producer/manager.
Grant acquisition is a difficult task, as there are so many seekers and so relatively few grantors. Success comes to those who have the skills and experience to develop appropriate proposals -- a set of requirements none of our volunteers possess. Funding through grants could provide us the resources needed to expand and improve our productions.
A dedicated (and compensated) producer/manager would be focused on ensuring that interesting guests were scheduled for our discussions, would consistently handle all the production details in a timely manner, would be focused on securing underwriters, and would deal with all the business issues of the enterprise.
Other uses for additional funds include: production of mini- and feature-length documentaries on issues of interest and importance to the LGBT community; establishing a nation-wide "stringer" network to acquire coverage of events that occur outside of the Colorado Front Range area; compensating volunteers for travel expenses incurred while covering events; establishing a reserve to be used for equipment maintenance and repair; purchasing liability and loss insurance; upgrading to high definition video equipment; and a host of others.
